The Art of New Mother Care
Botanicals & bodywork for postpartum care
The Art of New Mother Care is a long-form training in botanical postpartum care and bodywork. It is for those who feel called to tend the fourth trimester with steadiness, skill, and reverence—rooted in natural therapeutics, Ayurvedic & herbal traditions, shaped through embodied practice, and oriented toward the real needs of mothers in modern life.
The training unfolds over time, allowing skills, understanding, and confidence to develop slowly and sustainably. It invites you into a way of witnessing and holding new mothers that restores postpartum care as a living art.
How the training unfolds
The training unfolds over 15 months (+ 2 pause months), moving at a pace that allows learning to settle into your body instead of remaining conceptual.
Each month a new chapter opens. Each chapter includes pre-recorded audio and video teachings for self-paced learning alongside hands-on practices meant to be implemented through the month. These practices move the teachings from your intellect into your body as lived experience.
Content is released on the 1st of each month and remains available should you want to re-visit it. Two pauses—each spanning one month—are woven into the journey, offering space for integration, rest, and digestion of the teachings.
This structure is intentionally designed to support depth, steadiness, competence, and completion without overwhelm—honoring the reality that meaningful caregiving is cultivated over time.

Is this a certification?
The Art of New Mother Care is not a certification, license, or title. There is no central governing body that oversees or licenses postpartum caregivers. Upon completion, participants receive a printed Certificate of Recognition acknowledging the scope of study, hours of training, and hands-on practice completed. This certificate reflects the depth and integrity of this work and is intended to be a meaningful record of your training.
How long do I have access to the training?
You have lifetime access to all training materials. If you wish to receive your Certificate of Recognition, all required assignments must be submitted within two years of your original enrollment date.
Can I move at my own pace?
Yes. Content is released sequentially, once per month, and you are encouraged to move slowly and integrate the material in a way that fits your life and capacity. If you wish to receive the Certificate of Recognition, completion must occur within the two-year window.
Are there live calls or a community forum?
This training is intentionally designed without live calls, discussion forums, or group spaces. All teachings are delivered through pre-recorded transmissions to support depth, privacy, and nervous system regulation.
What if I have questions about the material?
Questions are gathered and responded to through a contained, monthly process. This allows inquiries to be addressed thoughtfully, and responses are made available to all.
Is this training appropriate if I’m not currently a doula or a mother?
Yes! The Art of new Mother Care is open to those who feel called to postpartum care, whether you are currently practicing, a mother yourself, or standing at the threshold of this work for the first time.
Do I need to be a licensed massage therapist or bodyworker?
No. This program is designed to be accessible to those who are not licensed massage therapists, and as much as possible our goal is to include only bodywork that can be provided without a massage therapy license. Massage licensure laws vary by location, so it is your responsibility to understand and follow the regulations in your area if you offer hands-on bodywork to clients.
What if I am a licensed massage therapist?
Licensed massage therapists are invited to add on the Postpartum Abhyanga Training if they wish to go deeper into offering full professional abhyanga sessions.
How does this program differ from Inner Sun & Moon’s Ayurvedic Doula Training?
This program overlaps in spirit and skill in many ways with the Ayurvedic Doula Training; however, it offers a distinct container and unique transmission. Each program includes material not found in the other, and ultimately, one does not replace the other.
