About Inner Sun & Moon
Husband and wife team Madana and Sarva Blackwell met in 2012 while attending deep training in the theory and practice of Natural Therapeutics in New Mexico. Their vision led to the creation of Inner Sun & Moon, which is dedicated to preserving and sharing the sacred wisdom of nature-based well-being. These holistic self-care practices are intended to help maintain balance and support overall vitality, aligning you with your true purpose and path.
Over the past decade, Inner Sun & Moon has evolved into an online school, educating dedicated individuals worldwide. It is especially renowned for its Ayurvedic Postpartum Doula and Core Synchronism trainings. Starting in 2025, classes will also be offered in-person in Portland, Oregon, the City of Roses.
Everything provided by Inner Sun & Moon is rooted in the philosophy of Natural Therapeutics + Ayurveda, ensuring the highest quality in teachings & offerings.
You may know Madana & Sarva as Max & Sarah—on the full moon in July 2018 they accepted initiation into the Gaudiya Vaisnava spiritual lineage and were given the spiritual names Madana-daha Dasa (meaning: the servant of He who is enchanted by the beauty of Srimati Radharani) and Sarva-mangala Devi Dasi (meaning: the servant of the All Auspicious Goddess).
About Sarva
Sarva Blackwell has dedicated the last two decades to merging her passion for mama-baby care, herbalism, and natural therapeutics, creating a holistic approach to supporting well-being. With a deep commitment to nurturing mothers and babies, Sarva draws from extensive experience and education to guide her clients through transformative, heart-centered care.
Her journey began in 2004, when she stepped into the world of infant and newborn care as a nanny, daycare worker, and infant care specialist. Over time, she expanded her expertise to include toddler care, igniting a passion for supporting early childhood development and uncovering a desire to understand the roots of physical, emotional, and behavioral challenges.
In 2009—alongside continuing to care for infants & young children—Sarva formally embraced the holistic arts by studying plant science, landscape design, and biodynamic gardening. This connection to nature led her deeper into plant-based remedies and holistic healing. By 2013, she had completed training in herbalism, flower essences, nature-based therapeutics, and massage therapy, earning her certification as a Natural Therapeutic Specialist.
That same year, Sarva founded Inner Sun & Moon, a space dedicated to supporting mothers, babies, and families through herbalism, bodywork, and heart-based wellness. She apprenticed with renowned clinical herbalist Sophia Rose, gaining invaluable hands-on experience in crafting herbal products and running a successful apothecary.
By 2015, Sarva fully transitioned to serving mothers and newborns as an Ayurvedic postpartum doula, becoming one of the last students to train with Ysha Oakes at the Sacred Window School for Maternal & Newborn Care. She also began studying Sanskrit and Vedic philosophy while residing at the Radha Krishna Temple, deepening her spiritual practice and understanding of Vedic wisdom. Sarva completed advanced training in postnatal Abhyanga and marma therapy and continued deeper into the study of Ayurveda & birth work.
Her personal life took on new meaning in 2018 with the birth of her daughter, Vina, which deepened her connection to postpartum care and brought a greater emphasis on incorporating ceremony and beauty into her work. In 2019, as the only Ayurvedic postpartum doula in Denver, Sarva began training new doulas and teaching herbalism classes, sharing her knowledge with the next generation of caregivers—starting informally in her kitchen with friends & clients drawn to her expertise.
In 2023, Sarva’s personal journey took a profound turn with the birth of her third child, who was diagnosed with a rare genetic condition. After facing near-loss and witnessing the fragility of life, Sarva’s perspective evolved, renewing her purpose to support postpartum clients facing infant loss or unexpected diagnoses.
Through Inner Sun & Moon, Sarva continues to blend herbalism, Ayurveda, and nature-based traditions to guide women and families toward balance. The wisdom she imparts is grounded in practices that have created miracles in the lives of many, including her own.
Sarva currently resides in Portland, Oregon.
