A Postpartum Care Ritual

This is a rite of passage ritual I offer the mothers I tend after birth:
1. Anointing oil (before a bath)
Warm sesame oil or a simple herbal oil massaged slowly and gently into the body from head to toe: belly, hips, low back, legs. Move strokes toward the heart. Presence is more important than technique.
2. Botanical bath
Prepare a strong herbal infusion and add it to warm bath water. Something like: magnolia petals, rose, and a grounding leaf or bark if available. Soak. Let the water hold what the nervous system no longer needs to carry.
3. Sealing anointing (after)
Finish with a drop of holy oil at the heart, womb, and crown.

This type of care was never meant to be rare.
Throughout history, postpartum rituals like this were a way of life, rooted in the plants of the land and a deep understanding of the postpartum body.
That’s exactly what I teach inside The Art of New Mother Care.
