Mama & Baby

Mama & baby well being through the sacred ways of Ayurveda + herbalism

Birth is an initiation every time a new child is born. The first 42 days after giving birth are a sacred window in a woman’s life. Her heart is open to a new depth & her being is set toward unconditional love and service to her newborn.

This creates an opening through which she is given the rare opportunity to heal her body, mind & spirit from before she was even pregnant & she gets to lay the foundation of her next 42 years of life.

Ayurveda honors this sacred post-birth window through deep & beautiful traditions that support, nourish & nurture mother & newborn during the 42 days after birth.

Sarva-mangala Devi Dasi // Sarah Blackwell

Call me Sarva.

My heart & soul’s work here on Earth is providing natural & holistic care to the women, the mamas, the babies.

From the time I started working, I was always caring for children. I spent 10 years as a daycare worker, a preschool teacher & a nanny before finding my way to the New Mexico School of Natural Therapeutics in 2012. I was looking for a natural solution to my own health problems & I wanted to take that solution and help others.

There I was trained in massage therapy, polarity therapy, nature cure, herbal medicine, living foods nutrition, flower essences & so much more. I was shown how to live in this world & care for my body, my mind, my emotions & my spirit in a way that finally made sense.

After graduating I knew I wanted to deepen my skills in medicine making & I wanted to take all this beautiful, holistic health knowledge and specialize it toward caring for women and babies.

From 2013-2014 I did a one-to-one apprenticeship with herbalist Sophia Rose of La Abeja Herbs where I learned the art of medicine making.

In 2015 I found my way to Ysha Oakes’ Sacred Window School for Maternal & Newborn Care where I learned Ayurvedic massage as well as all the depth & beauty of caring for women & newborns during the first 42 days after birth in the tradition of Ayurveda — through massage, diet & herbs, belly wrapping, bathing & so much more!

It is my heart’s joy to get to share this all with you now.
